BBQ Catering in Irving, TX That Smells Like the Real Thing
You know that smell? Post oak smoke drifting across a parking lot around 11 a.m., and suddenly the whole office is watching the clock.
We’re Meat & Greet BBQ Catering, bringing real pit-smoked Texas barbecue to Irving and the DFW metroplex. Brisket smoked low and slow until the bark sets and the fat renders. No steam-table shortcuts.
Las Colinas lunch meetings, Valley Ranch backyard parties, weddings by the water: different crowds, same question. Where do we get barbecue that actually tastes like barbecue? Right here.
We come to you (that's the whole point)
We’re mobile. Meaning we bring the food, the setup, and the people to wherever you need us in Irving — your office break room, a backyard, a rented hall, a park pavilion.
You don’t haul anything. You don’t babysit a smoker at 6 a.m. the morning of your own party. You just tell us where to park and what time folks are hungry.
There are a few ways we can run it, depending on your event:
Full-service, on-site. We show up, we set up, we serve, and we clean up the food side when it’s done. Good for weddings and bigger gatherings where you want it handled start to finish and you’d rather be a guest at your own event than a line cook.
Employee-served buffet. Our crew works the line and plates for your guests. Keeps things moving, keeps portions consistent, and keeps that one uncle from loading half a brisket onto his first plate. This is the sweet spot for a lot of corporate lunches and office parties.
Delivery and drop-off. We bring everything hot and ready, get the buffet set the way it should be, and leave you to it. Simpler events, tighter budgets, or teams that just want good food without the frills — this one’s for you.
Not sure which fits? Most people aren’t, the first time. Tell us the headcount, the venue, and the vibe, and we’ll steer you.
The meat is the whole story
Let’s talk about what actually lands on the plate, because that’s what people remember.
Brisket. This is our thing. Turns out “brisket catering near me” is exactly what folks around here go searching for, and honestly, good — because we take it seriously. Trimmed, seasoned simple, and smoked for hours until it slices clean and pulls apart when you want it to. A proper smoke ring. Bark you’d eat on its own. We’re not rushing it.
Pulled pork. Smoked until it shreds under a fork, tender all the way through. Piles beautifully onto a bun, or just onto a plate next to everything else.
Smoked chicken. The quiet crowd-pleaser. Juicy, real smoke flavor, and the option people reach for when they want something a little lighter but still want it to taste like it came off a pit. Which it did.
Pork ribs. The kind you don’t need a sauce to rescue. Though the sauce is right there if that’s your move.
Sausage. Because it’s Texas, and a barbecue plate without sausage feels like it’s missing a button. Smoky, snappy, right at home next to the brisket.
And the sides. The classics — the ones that make a plate feel finished. We keep them honest too, because nobody’s ever driven across town for sad, watery beans.

Feeding the office in Las Colinas
Corporate catering is its own animal, and Irving throws a lot of it at us.
Las Colinas alone is packed with companies running lunch-and-learns, quarterly all-hands, client appreciation days, and the occasional “we hit the number, order barbecue” celebration. We get called out near Williams Square, over by the Convention Center, all through the business district. Some of it’s a quick internal team lunch. Some of it’s a client-facing event where the food is part of the impression you’re making.
Here’s what matters for a work event: it has to show up on time, it has to feed everybody (including the vegetarian in accounting, so ask us about sides), and it has to not turn into a mess your office manager spends the afternoon cleaning up. We handle all three. Our employee-served buffet keeps the line moving so a 45-minute lunch window actually works, and nobody’s late getting back to their desk.
Being minutes from DFW Airport helps too, if you’ve got folks flying in for a meeting and you want to feed them something that says “you’re in Texas now” before they’ve even left the building.
If you’re planning something for your team or your clients, our corporate event catering is built exactly for this — flexible headcounts, clean setup, food that makes the company look good. Reach out and we’ll figure out the details.

Weddings, parties, and the big personal stuff
Not everything’s a business lunch. A lot of what we do in Irving is the stuff people remember for years.
Weddings, for one. There’s a real trend around here toward barbecue receptions, and we love it — it’s warm, it’s unpretentious, and it feeds a big room without the stiffness of a plated four-course thing nobody actually wanted. Picture a spread near the water at Las Colinas, brisket and sausage and all the sides, guests going back for seconds in their nice clothes. That’s a good wedding. If that’s the picture in your head, our wedding BBQ spread is worth a look.
Then there’s everything else. Graduations in late spring, when it feels like every family in Irving is throwing one the same weekend (book early — seriously). Backyard parties. Birthdays, retirements, “it’s Saturday and we felt like it” cookouts. Private events where you just want great food and zero stress.
We scale up and we scale down. A backyard thing for a couple dozen people gets the same real barbecue as the big events — we don’t run a different, sadder menu for smaller crowds. Smoke doesn’t know how many guests you invited.
What it costs (and why we don't just post a number)
Most delivery events run about $21 to $24 per person, depending on the meats you choose and your service style. [See our menu for full per-head pricing.] Drop-off is the leanest option, and full-service costs more because it covers staff, serving, and cleanup.
From there, we tailor your quote to your actual headcount, date, and location. A 20-person office lunch and a 150-person wedding aren’t the same job, so we price them honestly instead of forcing one flat number on both.
ONE MEAT
30 – 500
$21.30 PP
Keep it simple. Great for smaller gatherings or when everybody already agrees brisket is king.
TWO MEATS
30 – 500
$22.92 PP
The crowd-pleaser. A little something for the brisket people and a little something for the pork folks.
THREE MEATS
30 – 500
$24.30 PP
Go big. Weddings, company parties, that graduation where half the neighborhood shows up.
A few things people ask us
How far in advance should I book?
Sooner’s better than later, especially for weekends, and especially around graduation season and the holidays — those weekends fill up fast in Irving. That said, don’t count yourself out for something last-minute. Message us and we’ll tell you straight whether we can make your date work.
Do you actually smoke the meat, or is it brought in?
We smoke it. Real pit, real wood, real hours. That’s not a marketing line, it’s just how we cook. It’s the entire reason people call us instead of grabbing a tray from the grocery store deli.
Can you handle a big headcount and still show up on time?
Yes. We plan the cook and the timing around your event, not the other way around. Big corporate crowd, big wedding — we’ve built the operation to feed a full room hot and on schedule. Give us the details and we’ll walk you through exactly how the day runs.
What if I don't know which service style I need?
Totally normal. Tell us the basics — how many people, where, and what kind of event — and we’ll recommend drop-off, buffet, or full-service based on what actually fits. No upselling you into something you don’t need.

Was looking through my old emails and realized I never left a review! We used them for our wedding back in 2018! I still remember that delicious tea and BBQ. They were really friendly, and our guests still talk about how good (and Texan lol) our food choices were.Posted on Google![]()

This was our third time ordering from Meat & Greet BBQ and again, it was perfect. Before we ordered for our rehearsal dinner and then my husband’s 60th birthday. This time was for a family reunion with people coming from all over the U.S. Expectations were high for “real Texas BBQ” and the food did not disappoint. We had the brisket, pulled pork, green beans and cobbler. All disappeared. Thanks again Jim for great food and service!
